Courtney graduated from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia in 2020. She went on to clerk for the Hon. Chief Justice Robert Bauman at the Court of Appeal for British Columbia and Yukon, before returning to Fasken to complete her articles.
Courtney is Cree from Papaschase First Nation and Métis. During her legal studies, Courtney served as president of the Indigenous Law Students’ Association, a peer tutor to first-year law students, a researcher for EcoTrust Canada, and a research assistant to the Office of the Dean. Prior to law school, Courtney worked on energy, infrastructure, and natural resource development projects in Western Canada.
